Saturday we returned from two weeks in Mexico. We stayed at the Grand Mayan Riviera Resort near Playa Del Carmen, just south of Cancun. The resort was HUGE and probably the nicest place we have ever stayed. There were 1000 rooms in 24 buildings and 8 restaurants and snack bars including Italian, American, Health Food, Deli, Asian and of course Mexican. Food was wonderful. Weather was pretty good – a little cloudy the first couple days and a few evenings that were cold, maybe 50. Only downside was the pool water was really cold, to cold to be in. Bob wore a wet suit when he swam laps and as one person said “I feel like a popsicle”. I have a great tan and neither of us got sunburned or sick. Ocean shoreline was pretty rocky so we weren’t in the ocean at all plus that water was really cold also.
My next several posts will tell you more about the trip along with plenty of photos.
Here are a few photos to get started. Enjoy! This shows one of the three pools.

There were beds and lounge spots like this all over.
