Identity Crisis

I’m not having an identity crisis, it’s the name of a play we went to on Sunday at Centre Stage in downtown Greenville. It was so funny. This play was the winner of this years play writing contest. It pokes fun at so many groups. The plot is very clever with some twists and turns. The acting was perfect. A summary of the play is below. If you live in the area you still have time to see it. I highly recommend it.

Directed by Peter Saputo
January 13-22, 2011

It’s an unpublicized phenomenon that’s sweeping the country: White people are turning Black. On the night before his wedding, Alan Guthrie learns that it’s about to happen to him, and he’s freaked. Aside from the personal implications, Alan believes his prospective father-in-law is racist and would never allow his daughter to marry a black man. So begins a madcap journey involving some serious identity issues
