In my post on things we have been doing I forgot to mention one memorable dancer at the Furman program. She was a tap dancing saxaphone player. I think it takes a lot of talent to do one of thes and she does both well. I really enjoyed her performance. She is just a freshman so I just can’t wait to see what she does over the years. I wish I could find a video of her performing.
Here is what Furman said about her performance.
Yes, freshman Kelsie Nolan will play the saxophone while tapping. You could also say she will tap while playing the saxophone. Either way, Nolan’s got talent; she won the Furman talent show in the fall.
Nolan first thought of saxo-tapping (the writer’s phrase) when her friends egged her to combine her talents. One day while bored at church, she succumbed to the temptation. After all, playing the saxophone and tap dancing are her favorite things, besides chocolate.
“You can pretty much play all the saxophone stuff and tap, but you can’t do all the tap elements,” Nolan says.
