Took our very lethargic little Sabrina to the vet Monday morning. We couldn’t give the vet much to work with except she was really not acting like herself and hid all day, wasn’t playing, didn’t want to go outside and would not eat or drink.
They gave her lots of tests and the good news is they didn’t find much except her white blood count was high and she was a little dehydrated. That means there were many bad things that she didn’t have like kidney problems, bad heart, etc. It is pretty much the same thing that happened with Smoky a couple months ago. They sent us home with an appetite stimulator pill and antibiotics and with $415 less in our checking account.
By Monday night she was feeling better. She takes her medicine much better than Smoky. Last night and this morning she would eat if I put her food in my hand. This afternoon she is eating from her food dish but she has to make sure I see her eating. She is acting more like herself but not totally our old Sabrina. She won’t let me out of her site which is ok with me.
The vet and Bob and I are all puzzled about what is going on with these two cats every few months. Let’s hope they both stay healthy for awhile.
