Life Part Two

The adventures of Fay and Bob as they move beyond the 9 to 5 life

The first day of fall

Sept. 22 is the first day of fall.   It seems to me we recognize spring, winter and summer but don’t pay much attention to fall.  I had to look it up to see when it was.   On Sept. 22 the length of day light and darkness is approximately equal.   Fall is my favorite season.   I love the end of the hot weather and the start of the fall colors of the trees.  The weather temperature is perfect.   I might finally have to put on long pants and shoes instead of shorts and sandals.

Where I live in the foothills of the mountains in SC,  fall lasts for at least a couple months, depending on what altitude you are at so there are lots of opportunities to love the colors in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Yes, it really does look like this.  Layers of rolling mountains.  I took this photo on the Blue Ridge Parkway. 1 hour from my house.

Below is little Lake Placid on Paris Mountain which is only a few miles from where I live.   Definitely a place to go enjoy fall colors.  It’s a nice easy flat 1 mile around the lake.  Bob and I take a picnic lunch and go for a walk.

Enjoy the season.

  1. A Solstice does NOT occur in the fall.
Don’t give up your day job.
