This week I met with my neighbor Kathy for coffee and with my Tarot card lady friends so enjoyed some quality “girl” time.
Friday we packed a couple sandwiches and drove up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Up to 2500 ft the colors were pretty good but over that altitude most of the trees had lost there leaves. It’s always a lovely drive. It’s still surprises me at the temperature change. At 5300 feet it is 57 and you come down and it’s 75. We have had a long string of sunny warm days and the air smells so good.
We are both battling colds, Bob’s is worse than mine. Days aren’t too bad but he is having a really hard time sleeping. Yesterday he had pretty much lost his voice.
Bob went to a Woodworkers Guild tool auction and came home with a few things but not as much as I feared. I went with a couple girlfriends to the first Travelers Rest Art on the Trail. It was a gorgeous day, again, and they had about 40 local artists showing there crafts. It was a nice relaxing couple hours and enjoy being with my friends. They are both quilters and there was a Travelers Rest Quilt Club exhibiting beautiful things at the library. Even though I don’t quilt I could really enjoy them.
We were going to go out to dinner Sat. night but both felt crummy enough that we stayed home. Even to worn out to enjoy the spa but we will do that today.
Hoping none of you are going to be affected by the big storm Sandy coming in. Looks like it will miss us except maybe some rain, which we need.
