Shop towels

A few weeks ago we were up near Asheville getting some training on wood turning. Toward the end of the day the instructor asked us if we needed any shop towels. He told us a friend was getting rid of some rolls of towels for $5 and did we want a roll. I’m thinking, $5 is kind of expensive for a roll of paper towels. And then I saw the roll. Scroll down.

It’s two feet across.   As you can see, we said yes.   It’s kind of interesting stuff.   It’s more than a paper towel, one side looks like a paper towel but the other side is much coarser, almost like netting.   Haven’t tried to use it for anything yet.   Don’t know how absorbent it will be but seems heavy enough to put on wood finishes and do clean up.
