A perfect fall day

The weather could not have been more perfect today.   It got up to 70 and the sky is a perfect blue with no clouds.  Our trees have changed color but still have their leaves.   The air smells so good.  This is little Lake Placid On Paris Mountain, about 10 minutes from our house.

Bob and I got our outdoor chores done yesterday and we are pretty ready for winter except for getting the leaves still left to fall off the lawn.   Met our newest neighbor, Sandra, who is a potter, painting artist and stained glass artist.  Can’t wait to get to know her better.

We went to the afternoon matinee at Greenville Little Theater of Walking Across Egypt.  It is an inspirational, comic, southern play.   Delightful with some great one liners.  The theater was almost sold out.  I would highly recommend it.

“Walking Across Egypt” is Mattie Riggsbee’s favorite hymn, but she lives far from Egypt in rural North Carolina. Mattie has always been feisty, but at 78 she’s afraid she’s slowing down. That changes when she strikes up an unlikely friendship with juvenile delinquent Wesley Benfield. Armed with only her mouth-watering cornbread and her deep, abiding faith, Mattie is determined to steer Wesley to the straight and narrow…if only she can manage to stay out of trouble herself. This funny and heartwarming story will restore your faith in mankind while proving that you’re never too old to be needed, and never too lost to be found.

Making some French Onion Soup now to serve with a salad with Blue Cheese dressing and carmelized pecans and currants.   Then a soak in the hot tub.   Life is good.
