As you all know, I really love my little town of Travelers Rest. It has heart, soul, personality, cool businesses, outdoor healthy environment and has a plan to keep getting better. My understanding is that the number of votes and comments is important but not the only thing Budget Travel will consider when they pick the top 10 towns and then there is another voting contest. As far as I know there is no monetary award to the winners just lots of good press.
I am pleased to report that in only a few days out of the over 600 entries for the contest, Travelers Rest only has about 16 towns with more votes. We have 210 votes. Now I will admit that the top vote getters have 5000 votes but I’m still feeling that we are doing a pretty respectable job so far. We need votes and comments. You can vote every day. Voting goes on until Oct. 15.
